I don't know how in the hell this became #1 on the NG Best-Tracks list...Honestly and bluntly, it sucks.

While the song IS a classic, it seems that you made NO attampt to introduce your own style into the song. Listen mate, NG is about creativity and originality, and this song is neither. If you grabbed this from a MIDI, which definatly sounds like you did, go ahead and pop it into FL Studio or somthing and play with it for a couple of hours, you should be able to come up with somthing nice if you have any unerstanding of DAWs and music theory. Please try this again, with a little more style and originality.

I look forward to hearing more of your work, but please mate, try writing somthing yourself.

"Not sure what to think"

This is a really intesting idea for a song, but there were many things that took away from it's quality. Firstly, let me compliment you on the authentic sounds of the instruments, well done.

A couple of things to note. The notes were generally flat, and some of them were just completly bad-sounding. It almost hurts to listen to the flute screech. Also, the flute in the beginning has an unbearable crunchy noise.

Later on in the song, you change the melody completly and throw in a modern beat. That distracted from the original intent of the song.

Sorry mate, but I think you would have been better off with just the second half of the song. I'd be interested to hear the second half developed a little more.

"Well laid out"

Starting off with a nice bass was a good choice for this song, the piano melted nicely into the mix. The melody however, is slightly lacking. It sounds like the melody from "I love Lucy". Thats is fine, but I don't know how that really works for this song.

The drums were a little too, hippityhoppity for this song, but that could be just my taste, I don't know. All in all, this was a well-laid out track, minus 2 stars for bad EQ on the bass.
